Reading Notes Ch.2 COMM 4333

Becoming a Persuasive Writer

To be a good persuasive writer you must first have communication skills.

The process of communication is dependent on four elements:

  • Sender
  • Message
  • Channel
  • Receiver

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs:

  • Physiological
  • Safety
  • Social
  • Ego
  • Self Actualization

You must always know your audience. Once you adapt to them you will keep them. Know who they are, what they want and how to sell it to them. Never be manipulative or misleading.

All of my notes came from the, “Public Relations Writing and Media Techniques”, you can find this book at Amazon.
